Water Distribution in Gaza City

9/19/25 Update on Our Gaza Relief Fund

In light of the critical and urgent need for clean water, we have immediately allocated the initial $5,350 raised to begin water distribution in Gaza City.

While our original goal was $8,000, we determined that getting these vital funds on the ground without delay was paramount.

Our efforts to raise additional funds continue.

Your continued support is deeply appreciated as we work to provide further aid.

Thank you.

Together, we made it happen! In direct response to the request of Gaza City teens and powered by the generosity of donors like you, we fully funded a six-day Life Canvas project. This initiative provided a vital creative outlet for teens to express their experiences and perspectives through art (Check out the pictures below!).

The Water for Gaza Benefit Show on Saturday, August 23rd concluded with a live video call with our friends in Gaza City. After a live performance by local breakdance crew the Humboldt Rockers, we held a Q&A with friends and residents of Gaza City. They spoke movingly about their everyday challenges and the current situation, while also expressing their hopes for our ongoing support. This collaboration is part of our work with Life Canvas, a six-day event that guided teens in Gaza City in painting and sharing their own stories.

To foster a sister-city relationship between Gaza City and Arcata, our contacts at the Gaza City Municipality have proposed a cultural exchange: we will exhibit their work here, and our local teens will create art in response to the work made by teens in Gaza.

Our recent interview on KMUD highlights the Life Canvas program.
